We FINALY Moved!

As most of you know we set out on a risky adventure of selling our home while hoping and praying for this other home that was for sale, our dream home. When we say adventure … we mean adventure! We sold our home For Sale By Owner so we were able to play realtor for a few month, now I see why we pay realtors so much! It was a learning experience and the house sold for a great price! We said our tearful goodbyes to the home we started our life together in.

But back to that “dream home” we were telling you about … did we mention it was a “short sale”? And there is NOTHING short about a short sale. Actually going into this we knew NOTHING about short sales, we learned the old fashion way … we jumped right in! We moved into an apartment with 8 month old baby Peyton and put EVERYTHING into storage. Then we waited, everyday hoping for a call saying that this house was ours. All we wanted to hear was “time to come sign escrow papers”. But two months had passed without hearing those words.
We just kept hearing “you are getting an amazing deal and you need to be patient” from the short sale coordinator. We started to wonder “did we take too big of a risk? Are we going to be homeless? Was this really too good to be true?”

Apartment life was starting to wear on all three of us; Peyton did not have room to move all around, which is what he does now. We had to park FOREVER away from the apartment and lug a baby with all his baby gear and even groceries all in one trip, too complicated! We tried to have positive attitudes and focus on the good things, like we had a pool for the summer, and there was a lot less home chores to do! But the positive attitudes were starting to grow dim. Then it happened, the phone rang and it was our short sale coordinator, she said “what could I tell you that would make your day?” WE GOT THE HOUSE! And we had 1 week to move!
The moral of the story is that this summer we were blessed with faith, patience, and the amazing experience of growing together stronger as husband and wife! Yippee for adventures and waiting out Gods plan! And thank God for friends and family that helped us move! Jill you are the best! I will post more pics soon!

HOORAY, congratulations!! All those lessons in patience were well worth it, I'm sure. :) And just think how much you will appreciate your beautiful big house now, after spending the summer cooped up in a tiny apartment...
