Our Needed Holiday

Thanksgiving weekend was a needed holiday for our little family. I know that it is starting to sound redundant when I say we have been ridiculously busy and stressed, but there is always something new! My job has been a little rocky and we are having to make some big decisions about our future right now ... that kind of stuff stresses me out! Amidst our stress we always try to give Peyton as much focus and positive attention while he is awake, so when he goes to bed we are swamped with all of our other responsibilities. We feel like we just need some time to breath. So we took the day before Thanksgiving off work and headed over to Bear Valley to stay with my uncle and aunt at their cabin/home on the lake. I was envious! They wake up every morning to huge windows showing huge trees and a surreal lake with a foggy mist smoothing the line between lake and sky. It was simply amazing. A glass of wine, beautiful surroundings, cell phones off, Peyton practicing walking, and my husband snuggling me ... now that was what I needed! The next day we headed to Tehachapi and met up with the rest of my wonderful family. Lots of fun, lots of food, a little Taboo (which we were all pretty good at) and the kids running wild ... lots more fun! This year was my first attempt at Black Friday shopping ... lets just say i was in the checkout line for two hours, and I got there at 4 am ...! That was crazy ... but I am definitely doing it next year =) I saved so much money doing it that way! Ok I am done rambling ... here are some vacation pictures.
