Why 1 Is So Fun!

I really did not expect Peyton to be doing so much by 15 months old. He has so much personality, and quite the temper already. The rapid pace at which he is learning things is so rewarding to observe. Here are a few fun things from this week that I just don’t want to forget, so I am writing them down! ALSO I would love to hear what funny, silly, and new things your little ones are doing!?

The Temper
It baffles me how determined he is with his tantrums, and it is challenging to keep up with his consistency! When he does the through myself on the floor face first tantrum he will actually walk over to carpet before he falls, after the fit on the tile he learned his lesion =) Lately he has been waiting patiently by a “no-no” waiting for me to look away for a split second, then he grabs the “no-no” and runs with every ounce of might he has straight to his bedroom and shuts the door. The first time he did it I was a little surprised and almost wanted to laugh. By the time I got to his room he was backed up in the corner (deer in headlights look) he dropped the spoon he took out of the dish washer and said “no-no-no-no”! I almost cracked up laughing at that point … but he still got a time out.

The Eating

It is really fun to feed him what we are eating, but hard not to give him certain things … like syrup on a waffle. He was not happy when he saw sugary sticky summyness dripping off of our waffles while he munched on a dry one. My remedy was to put some jelly on his. He smashed the waffle right up to his face and sucked the jelly out of each square! Then he did actually eat the waffle. He is also very sneaky with slipping veggie’s or his leftovers under the table for Bella. If I catch him he scolds Bella and tells her “no-no”! Poor Bella! We do not give him sugar very often at all, but when we had pictures taken at the mall last week and I got cinnamon sticks from Cinnabon I felt generous and let him have one … or two. He went baby crazy! Literally bouncing and spinning and screaming! He was sugar possessed!

The Silliness
Peyton has been spinning in circles until he gets so dizzy he falls to the ground, then he just laughs and does it again =) It seriously is fun to watch! His favorite toys right now are my curly hair brush, my Victoria Secret lotion bottles, and my blush brush. He likes to sit in my bedroom bathtub and play with those exact items while watching me get ready in the morning. If he sees a curly brush anywhere … someone else’s house or the store … he gets desperate for it! He just learned how to kiss and I love it! He like to kiss himself in the mirror, every mirror in my house is dreadfully covered in Peyton spit, he is a sloppy kisser. Also beware of him grabbing your child and planting a big one on them! He attacked Kaylyn and left more spit on her face than she even had in her mouth. She pushed him away and said “no more”!

How cute... I love the stories! They are all too familiar! Maddy loves items from the dishwasher and she'll throw herself face down when I tell her no. LOL... it's gotta be the age!

You will be so glad you wrote this in a few years because as much as you want to remember every single detail, some of it fades from memory. He is a real cutie. I love seeing his personality developing!

So cute...it's so fun to see them develop and pass each milestone. One year old tempers are cute, two year old tempers are no fun! :)
