Today was hot, but the sunshine was so cheerful I had a major itch to get out and soak up some sun. I pondered many different activities, but one by one I came up with reasons they were not practical. Driving to the edge of the mountains to collect rocks with Peyton, not smart when I am so close due date. Going to Heart Park, Peyton would miss his nap. Walking the bike trail, too hot for that when I am as big as a house. Tend to my garden, my belly is too intrusive for me to get up and down that much. So what CAN I do then?!
By the time the idea came to me my day was almost over, but the sun was still shining bright. A picnic! It was late enough to do a dinner picnic with Ryan at the park. I pulled out the trusty old picnic basket, the checkered table cloth, and everything else I needed for my perfect dinner plans. I called Ryan and told him to come home I had a fun night planned. The amount of joy that fills my heart from the simplest things is rather silly, but just part of me I guess. I was giddy with excitement for my big picnic plan in the park!
The picnic was everything I hoped it would be (except for the huge dogs not on leashes running around that could swallow Bella in 5 seconds, and the mass of flies that were swarming us.) It was delightful!

You are too cute!!! I love picnics at the park. I used to picnic in the backyard all the time last summer when Swee'Pea was not yet crawling and I didn't want him on the concrete at the park. Too fun!!
Hurry baby Cohen. Get here so we can meet you and take you to the park, too!
I am seriously impressed with your gumption to get up and go! And I LOVE the name of your blog- how awesome- Boys with Poise.
I am inspired to go on a picnic. How much fun!

What a fun idea! You are a brave person to go sit out in the heat when you are about to have a baby. I could not have tolerated the heat!
