Time is flyin'! Can you believe both my boys have had birthdays and I have not told you about them yet ...? I can not believe this either. I think I was waiting for it to seem more real, since there is no way I have a 3 year old and a one year old!
Last I checked we had two babies; now we have sibling rivalry, mock conversations between two brothers, mixing up laundry piles since their clothes are almost the same size, splitting almond butter and honey sandwiches since they eat the same food now, baby equipment being moved into storage, big boy beds in the SAME room, and two boys who's favorite game is to giggle profusely while making the OTHER brother giggle profusely.
Time is passing, they are growing, life is changing, it is as real as it comes, and I am loving it. Ryan and I looked at each other last night and had a telepathic conversation that merged into a real conversation. It started with us laughing at the boys being so silly, then looking at each other and smiling, then at the same time saying "can you believe this?" we have KIDS! We reminisced back to the early conversations about if we were ready to start a family and how would it all work. We were, it worked, and God is good!
Cohen turned 1! We had a baby style Hoe Down, there was hay, home made peach cobbler and ice-cream, friends and family overflowing out of our home, BBQ, and water toy for all the kids! It was a fun filled event to celebrate our dear Cohen's first year, oh how we love this little boy =) He stared walking the week after his birthday. He was just learning his first few words "mama" "dada" "buba" and "bla" for Bella. But I swear right after his party he turned into a new baby, he just started learning new things by the second! He is one little smarty pants, and grows cuter and cuter by the moment.
Peyton is 3, this is the one that stumbles me, 3?!?! Wow, and he could not be any more of a joy to celebrate! He is one fun 3 year old. We had a Veggie Tales birthday play-date for him. It was LOADS of fun. I made him a Bob the Tomato cake, we had Veggie Tales egg dishes, baby carrots, and peanut butter celery sticks. I got a bunch of gourds at the pumpkin patch the week before and we let the kids make faces on them and take home their very own home made Veggie Tale! The 3 year old's and older loved it, the younger ones did not quite get it yet =) Peyton's highlights were getting a Buzz Lightyear, his cousin Patsy MAKING him a Tee Pee {seriously it is amazing} and eating cake with his friends. He is still talking about it =)
Oh and I can not leave out Halloween! Peyton was a Cowboy and Cohen was an Indian, they were adorable! We had a few friends come over and Trick or Treat with us, Peyton asks almost ever day if we can go on a walk, and when we do he tries to sneak his trick or treat bucket out the door with him LOL I told him the other day that he is going to have to wait another year before he can do that again, a few seconds later he said "has it been a year mommy?" {sigh} He just makes my heart smile.
Just for kicks here are some of the blogs I started writing in my head lately but will not find the time to write =) I think just the titles will show you a glimpse into my world right now, my chaotic, ever changing, blessed and enjoyed world:
The Passive Child vs The Very Strong Willed Child: Can the Mother Remain Sane ...?
The Potty: Peyton is using it very well and Cohen is hiding EVERYTHING {including the remote} in it!
Supper Time: Cohen stop giving all your food to the dog and Peyton do NOT put food in your nose.
Separation Anxiety: Peyton has it bad ... and I am trying to just soak it up =) Cohen just waves real big and is off to conquer the world!
Cowboys: If you are coming to my home be prepared to be asked to saddle up and be a horse for awhile!
Baby Bug: Why does it always hit me right as a 1st birthday is approaching?! {and no need to ask, we are not having a baby right now} But I might snatch yours out of your hands and smother it for awhile!
Sharing a Room: My boys are roomies! So far so good =) And it is stinkin cute, I can hear their before bed chit chat on the monitor {heart melts}
The Balance: I feel like we are finding it! Juggling being a MOPS leader this year, doing Woman's Bible Study once a week, being a wife, mother and friend, and so on and so on. I learned the trick, are you guys ready for this? Embrace chaos, stay focused on things with Eternal Importance, and smother and enjoy you family! These things were SO HARD for me last year {they still are} but they are getting easier =) God has placed some amazing women in my life help hold me accountable to these things =) Wow that was longer than a "title of a post" LOL sorry =)
Well I will leave you with that. I am not sure when I will blog again, or if I will be able to get the pictures to actually upload, but be assured I am busy busy busy with very wonderful things and will sneak in to tell you about them as often as I can =)
Are any of you learning how to embrace a little chaos right now? It is a rough lesson for the control freak types like me!

I love tihs blog, Angela! And I love you! :)
you're such a sweet mommy, and I love to hear you write about your wonderful boys. Thank you for the peek into your life right now, for I've been thinking of you and wondering how you're doing.
Also, I must say, you impress me... you do so much, and seem to have never-ending cheerfulness and time for those around you! I love that about you.
I'm learning to embrace the chaos too, and it's wild... but wonderful. God is SO good, isn't He?? Now if only time would slow down just a teeeensy bit, that would be perfect. :)
oh friend, we will have to get together soon. I would love to see you and your boys again and truly catch up. Meanwhile, I pray everything continues right and wonderful in your busy world. Hugs!
Great update! Your boys have such a sweet bond. So glad you've found that balance. I'm still working on it, but definitely getting closer. I think that first year with #2 is tricky. Looking forward to some pictures soon ( I know I've already seen them on facebook, but it's always fun to transfer them into posts on here)
i love you!
Your boys are growing into such handsome little men. I can hardly believe their birthdays have come and gone. I'm always struggling with juggling life and finding a balance and I'm glad you shared what you're learning about that. And thanks for letting us know what's going on with you and your family.
