The first story is about Peyton's bed time prayers ... absolutely precious. I know he does not understand yet that he is talking to his savior, but Ryan and I think that instilling this habit in him young is important. So since he was an infant we prayed with him before bed. Several months back he started folding his hands during prayer time, and then a couple weeks ago ... out of nowhere ... he shouts out AMEN (or mamen) half way through the prayer! I got so excited I made him do it like 100 more time just for my own satisfaction. Now every night he folds his hands and says mamen when we are done.
My second story is not so sweet. About a month ago Peyton started having Night Terrors. They were dreadful and would make me bawl. He would wake up screaming the most horrifying scream ever, he would be sobbing, and shaking frantically. His little hands and knees would be trembling and he would just cling to me when I would pick him up. Within minutes he would calm back down and fall right back to sleep. I did NOT calm down so easily! I could not figure out where this was coming from or what to do about it. Finally in his doctors visit yesterday the doctor told me that it was from not getting enough sleep and being over active during the day. He said hyper active children often play too hard, and do not wind down enough before bed so they do not fall into a deep enough sleep, and wake several hours later with Night Terrors. I quickly associated the Night Terrors to when I moved Peyton to one nap! Needless to say ... he is back to two naps, and he did not have a Night Terror last night!
My last story is about diapers! Some how I missed the wonderful invention of "Over Night Huggies"! For the longest time we have had problems with Peyton peeing out of his diaper EVERY NIGHT! I would have to change his sheets, give him a bath, and wash his pj's. Needless to say it was getting very old very fast. But what could I do?! Then last week I was buying diapers at Walmart for a baby shower I was going to (I always just use Costco diapers) and I saw this wonderful big box of diapers called Over Night Huggies! I decided they were definitely worth a try, low and behold they work wonders! I have never seen a diaper hold so much, when he wakes up the diaper is loaded and hanging past his knees! But no leaks =)
So with some precious little bedtime prayers, and a night free of Terrors or diaper leaks, our bed times have been MUCH more enjoyable around here. We can have a few peaceful nights before Cohen comes to rock our just perfected night time routine =)

oh he is soooo cute with his hands folded. i love it when ollie says "Ameh".
so fun seeing you today!
I love the picture of Peyton saying his prayers. So cute! Yikes, I have heard about night terrors, so sorry that Peyton was going through them. I hope the two naps helps him get enough sleep to stop those! It sounds terrifying! Yuck about having to change the sheets and wash a load of laundry every morning, I'm glad the overnight diapers are helping keeping him contained and you're not dealing with leaks.
Is that not the sweetest thing that he folds his hands and says "Amen"! I love it!!
So glad you were able to (hopefully) find a fix for his night terrors. Those can certainly be scary...my step-son suffered from them for years, but after moving him to a bigger bed they seemed to wear off.
Angela, you always crack me up! I love your written voice: "when he wakes up the diaper is loaded and hanging past his knees!" LOL.
Prayers are precious! We pray at meals, but by bedtime, he's so crazy - tired but trying to stay awake and running around like a crazy man - that we're thankful just to get him in bed! (I think he is too). Need to retry it though. I agree, important!
